Yesterday, when I pulled my pants on, my little toenail, on my left foot, caught on the material...painfully!
I bent down to have a look & my toenail seemed to be sticking up...
Understand here, that as you get older, bending far enough down to examine closely is a mission, especially when you wear bifocal glasses for old age sight adjustment...you have to tilt your head in strange directions to line up your line of sight...lol
But...after some huffing & puffing, & odd contortions, it seemed like I had broken the nail, down to the quick...no problem...get my nail clippers & snip it off!
Snip snip...OUCH!
WTF...there is blood everywhere!
Clasped a tissue to it (that stung) then peered short sightedly at it again...to my horror the nail seemed to have gone!!!!!
Looked at the clippers & sure enough, here was this tiny painted nail !!!
Major panic...horror...queasiness!
Ok...total over reaction, BUT, I once watched a horror movie where the girl caught some dreadful virus, & her nails kept falling out when she touched them, along with other dreadful bodily fails...my imagination got the best of me!!
Anyway, it appears that somehow I have snapped the nail off, leaving only a tiny line of nail near the base...
Very stingy & I have to be sure to keep it covered to avoid infection...not a big deal but it is quite painful!
Then last evening, I stubbed my right little toe, on the end of the bed as I hurried past...HARD!
A lot of leaping around & bad language!!!
It swelled up like a balloon, throbbing painfully...
This morning the swelling has gone down, but the toe is bruised black & very sore...
I have taped the toe to the next one, but I am now hobbling along like a 90 yr old, with damaged pinky toes on both feet!
Grandma Guesthouse is keen on ferrying me to the hospital, but I'm not having a bar of that....she loves the hospital, no idea why...
The local hospitals have long waiting times at A&E (seems nothing changes around the world, eh?) ....
Vietnamese people take food, blankets etc with them, while they wait..
I think Grandma views it as an outing...a social occasion...Lol
But...she is not using me as a social secretary...LMAO
