The food in Vietnam has reignited the tastebuds into high excitement....the food is INCREDIBLE!
This is fresh food the way it is supposed to be...you can just feel yourself bursting with good health after eating it!
I bought cherry tomatoes the other day...I have been popping them into my mouth like candy...every small morsel flashes me back to my childhood...hot summer days, tomatoes eaten fresh off the vine...no insecticides, preservatives, hothouses, hybridizing...just a plain old original tomato in all its yummy glory...
Cucumbers so crisp that a gentle bend snaps them in half with an audible crack...
Small bread rolls, still hot & crusty, bought out of a basket on the back of a bike... to be eaten that day before going stale...NO preservatives!
Pick your fruit/veges from the large selection, & it will be whizzed into a fresh juice or smoothie, in an ancient blender on the side of the road...BLISS!
Last night I had a vegetable pizza from my favourite restaurant....out it came, hot from the pizza oven & packed to the gunnels with cheese, tomato, onion, peppers, olives, broccoli, pineapple....every mouthful was a taste sensation...my tastebuds were dancing all over my mouth!!!!
So no....my tastebuds are not buggered...it is just that our food in NZ has become so over processed, hybridized, cool stored, blanded down, that there is hardly any taste left!
Lucky for me that because of the heat, I'm not eating very much, or I would be the size of a double decker bus by now...LOL
